Lossless Listening Arrives on Spotify Premium

Same for me but that doesn't stop me from being curious about when it really comes. A few days, weeks or months here or there actually doesn't play any practical role for me.:)

I'm convinced that I won't hear any difference Ogg Vorbis at 320k vs lossless. No matter how many blind tests I would do. Even if I really tried to try to hear a difference, I wouldn't be able to pass such a test.

It was implied this month on Reddit (by the Spotify engineer answering questions)

Just a little note for those lusting for 384 kHz record/replay:

So, unless you're a bat . . .

Switched to Qobuz for reasons other than lossless streaming: I got fed up of the price increases, irritating focus on podcasts, and wanting to experience music differently: find it rather than have some algorithm guide my tastes. Qobuz is also pays artists the among the most per stream, which I find important (I'll still buy CDs or digital for music I really like).

Qobuz also lets you browse by label, which, to a niche listener like myself, is a goldmine. The labels I follow generally cater to a a specific genre.

Qobuz Connect, now Spotify Lossless, feels like Christmas is already here.
Indeed, Qobuz connect works very nicely! The only nit pick I have with it is that if you're playing Qobuz on a browser across multiple tabs/devices, all of these will carry the same name under Qobuz connect. Spotify solves this by using the system's hostname.

I think the most exciting thing about Spotify lossless is to see which countries/users get it first. AND that in itself is not exactly super exciting to follow (it is a little exciting).:)

Lossless in itself vs Ogg Vorbis at 320k, my position remains, what I said in #100.

I'm in the U.S. and upgraded to Premium Individual for an extra dollar so I could try lossless, but I don't have that option. Same old "Very High" is the best available to me both using the Windows app and Android. Yet another reason for me to hate Spotify.

I don't understand the love people have for Spotify's app. To me the most important UI feature is precise control of the queue and Spotify is horrible compared to Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon. Why can't they implement a simple way to choose albums or selected tracks to either "Play Next" or "Add to Queue" without adding all sorts of junk I don't want?

I know, stupid question, but did you update the apps? I now have a new option under quality for “Lossless” on iOS.

They're rolling it out gradually, not all premium users have it yet.

What is your Spotify app version? The newest seems to be 9.0.78 in my region (EU).

Yes, both Windows and Android are updated. Windows 1.2.72.438.g8c.88c31c and Android 9.0.78.1116

There are reports of lossless being available in the UK now, but I can't verify.
