I’ve been looking around for a while now but haven’t been able to find something that is spot on, so I’m turning to the collective knowledge here.

I’m looking for a subwoofer that fulfills a number of very specific criteria.

My list of criteria is:
* Between 32 - 35 cm deep (with grille)
* Connections on opposite side of woofer
* Sealed
* Low, or very low, Q
* Low group delay
* Low distortion at not excessive volumes
* Need to perform well down to 30 Hz
* Less than €2000

It’s not going to play very loud, so max SPL isn’t really relevant.

Do you have any good tips?

I have a pair of Rythmik subwoofers, and I love them. Would have loved to get a Rythmik FM8, but it’s just too deep to fit.

Been looking at a number of different alternatives, but haven’t yet found any that really fits the full list.

Sweetchaos' Subwoofer Comparison Spreadheet has 116 subwoofer models with sealed construction and betwen 31 and 36cm depth (to include 31.89cm etc.)

From there, it's just a matter of going through each to check the location of the ports and so on.

If you select only models with CTA-2010 data, then that leaves just 14 subwoofers:

Paradigm Seismic 110. Very good performance from small sub.
I don't know how it compares to some of the others but definitely better than the monitor sub 10

I'm was aware of that sheet, but I had ruled it out since it only contains SPL data.

Using it to filter out candidates to look up was a good idea though. Thanks.

Still, I'm feeling a bit in the blind, not having more data on them. For example I know I prefer high dampening (always using my Rythmik with Q = 0.5), which tend to correlate with low group delay, but that data seem to be available only for very few subwoofers.

Thanks. That kind of pointers was what I was originally looking for.

Although, maybe I should have added to my list of criteria that it need to be square (or at least have a flat top), since I intend to put things on top of it. :)
