Looking for speakers under 350CAD

have you used this website before, is it safe?
I'm scared of getting scammed, then I'd have no speakers and no money left!
EDIT: it seems to be just a free website that's community owned, so no pay-backs like ebay that'd be very risky...
I've used the USA version a few times. No problems.

If you can wait untill Black Friday, Studio Economik usually has some smokin deals. Last year they were selling the JBL 305p’s for $169/each.

Ooohh. I was saving for an OLED monitor by then, but from the looks of it, I'll not have enough money because I can't resist nice things xD It's gonna suck but I could wait.

Hey all!
I got the used LP6 v1 for 300cad. + 35CAD for the uber :) the guy was very nice and gave me a 25$ discount because I had no way to get home as they were bigger than expected and I had to take a few busses

they sound amazing, but holy crap the hissing is BAD. I hopefully won't be driven insane!

Thanks for the advice and help. I realized the kind of audio quality i was hoping for is at least 1000$+ but for 300cad these are very close minus small shortcomings.
the r1700bt are nice tbh, they're surprisingly good for the size/cost but they are muddy and lack detail.

TIPs for the future reader: Go and try your best to hear the speakers in person or try them and return them if you can (although that's wasteful but you know...)
the reviews and specs don't tell you much on how you'll feel if you're not a technical musician and more like me "listen to music"
plus although I prefer a natural flat sound, studio monitors aren't always the best for listening for fun.

my Edition XS (minus the low bass) sound better to me still tho, specially the cello in songs.

If you can stretch your budget a bit the Edifier S1000MKII is 480 CAD on Amazon and has BT.
For the MR4s, I have them and they are ok, the N300 is supposed to be better and has BT but I didn't find it on Amazon.ca

After a quick search, I found this Edifier S1000DB Active Bookshelf Speakers for 360 CAD, free shipping and the 10% off code for new signup should work.
The edifier site has a section for certified refurbished. I had the S1000 speakers before and they were great for the livingroom.

@AmeliaBuns, I'm a long-time member (since 2006) at Canuckaudiomart, member name is Hi_Fi_Nut and I can help you out with purchasing from there if the need arises. Sellers and buyers receive feedback for their transactions (I have positive 119) therefore looking at feedback provides some comfort when purchasing an item.

@AmeliaBuns yes the hiss is bad on the v1, that is one key area they improved on the v2.

At least with the JBLs, having unbalanced input tended to make it substantially worse (because the ground loop introduced noise from the power supply which is of the switching type), so that's one area to check. Would need the right cables then (RCA to XLR of the correct construction, like this). One easy test for whether this may be a problem is just unplugging the audio cable at the speaker and paying attention to whether the noise floor changes. While you're at it, test whether the volume knob has any effect as well (which probably doesn't need to be cranked all the way to +6 dB either).
