Looking for PA system

I'm looking to upgrade with minimal stress on setting up so would prefer active speakers but would consider other systems.
I'm currently using KV2 ex10's active with a sub when venues are larger. Anyone recommend anything else?

You're probably better off asking on a more pro audio focused forum, it's not exactly ASR's bread and butter. And we'd need a lot more information to really give good recommendations. What's your budget? Use case? What kind of music/performance do you typically provide sound for? Are you limited on power, pack space, hands for lifting, etc?

That said, here's some general advice that applies regardless:

The KV2s you have are pretty damn respectable for their size. Since most top tier PA gear is passive (D&B, L'acoustics, Danley, Alcons), your options for upgrades are limited if you want to stay with active. Meyer is the obvious choice. A pair of X40s and a 900-LFC is about as good as it gets for a three box active system, but it's $$$. You'll need a processor for eq/gain/delay/etc if you don't want to do it all through your mixer. People also say good things about Adamson's active line, but I haven't personally heard them.

Why not passive? There are reasons passive systems are more popular in serious pro audio: fewer cable runs, easier to have backup amps in case of failure, lighter, cheaper to add additional boxes down the road. Most brands at or above the level of KV2 either provide presets for popular 3rd-party DSPs (eg Danley, Fulcrum) or their own proprietary black-box processing (L'Acoustics, D&B). If only home/studio audio would get on the bandwagon of smart amps and speakers that came with 3rd-party DSP settings...

Thanks for the knowledge - i do two tribute acts, one madness and oasis, backing tracks are wav files ran on macbook air with logic pro x using video and programmed lights realtime. I was looking for a little effort as possible but have the capability to use small venues with the system aswell as the larger rooms. I dont mind passive systems just want not much tech work to do. I know L’acoustics and D&b are mental money but if the right system would consider - i was looking at the L’acoustics SVYA system but thats £23k with the amp ‍♂️

When you say pro forums do you have any in mind?

ProSoundWeb is a good one.

What is it that you're looking for that the KV2 rig isn't giving you?
You're unlikely to get anything significantly better with cabinets the same size.

If a standard speaker with a 15" woofer is not loud enough you should think about a small line array system. There are some which can be mounted on stands with up to 4 array speakers, so no need for a big hanging rick. You'll need subs though. The advantage is that SPL varies less with distance, and you can add more array speakers if needed.

The RCF HDL 6 is an example.

I work for 2B Heard so give me a shout as we might be able to help.

Active speakers like Meyer X40s are excellent but pricey. For passive options, RCF HDL 6 line arrays are flexible and work well for various venues. You can explore ProSoundWeb for more detailed advice.

I didn't know about Dragon before

, thanks.

You can always check to see what Clair Global is selling used.

You can find some older L-Acoustic and D&B stuff for sale on the web. Even their outdated gear might work well for you. JBL has plenty of competitive products.
