Ive been going back and forth for a while on various options trying to narrow down something thats within my fairly limited budget, while still having good enough sound quality, and above all being comfortable for long wearing sessions with glasses on (a know this can sometimes be a pain point with some headphones).

Sennheiser have so far been ticking the boxes.

560s - £90. But apparently quite tight and uncomfortable.

599 - £113. The worst in sound quality (though still probably more than good enough for me) but seems to get top scores in comfort.

550 - £160. New so less info on these and a higher price. But seem to be the best of the bunch on sound while having the comfort of the 599. My current front runner if it wasnt for price.

Another sticking point though is longevity. Issues ive had in the past with headphones is the fake leather just cant wait to age itself and turn into flakes and oil all over the desk. It seems you can replace the padding on these with some effort so hopefully not too bad.

Ive also considered the AKG k702, though I've heard the comfort isnt great on those.
Also the fiio ft1 and ft1 pro. But these are much bigger and heavier and have awkward (for me) multiple plugs.
Also was pointed at hifiman at one point but those things are crazy huge.

Thought id bring the question here as id had a lot of help with my recent amp and speaker purchase which ended up going well. Hoping round 2 ends up as successful!

I am an HD800 user. They're incredibly light, big and comfortable. Unbeatable in this respect IME.

In the past I owned a pair of Beyerdynamics DT880 600ohm. These were also so soft and comfortable - I would often forget I was wearing them. Close second to the HD800 w.r.t. comfort.

I just took delivery of a pair of HD6XX from Drop for a second system. They are so incredibly tight. After 10 minutes they hurt my head. They feel claustrophobic. This is when I'm not wearing spectacles. With spectacles on, it's much worse.

All of this to say - I hope the three you're looking at don't share the same clamping force pedigree as the HD600/650/6XX as I think you'll find they are far from the most comfortable headphones around.

Hd560 apparently has high clamping force.

Hd599 seems to basically be called one of the most comfortable headphones available. And 550 is apparently the same chassis.

Sennheiser 490 Pro is supposed to be comfortable and depending on your preferences might sound better as it has swappable two pads (in case you don't EQ).
