Recently I used REW to conduct some room measurements using periodic pink noise. The results have been excellent. Using Var smoothing, It resulted in a graph using 14 parametric EQ filters that I can use within Windows 11. Unfortunately, it doesn't cross over to Pro Tools as easily, which uses AAX plugins instead of the more common VST3 type.

I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with an AAX EQ plugin that can replicate the filter curve that REW produces?

Thanks

I would recommend CraveEQ:

I have not used Pro Tools in a few years, but can't you just add 1 or more EQ plugins to the Main bus?

I use Sonar and that's how I do it.

If you are running PT on Windows, you don't need to use the room correction EQ in PT also, it's applied to the audio device, it should still work through EQAPO?

No, unfortunately I need separate EQ processing for my JBLs and headphones. I've tried to come up with an EQ setting that'll work for both but it hasn't worked out well.

I have 2 EQ plugins on the main bus. One for my monitors and one for my cans. I toggle them on and off as needed.

Yes, I do too but I send the Master bus to separate Aux's... one for the monitors and one for headphones.

For me, It would be great if a manufacturer came up with a plugin that could read REW's filter text format. Just copy and paste the text file into the plugin and wallah!... you have your EQ curve set.

You can run DAW's out into EQ apo with the FL Studio ASIO driver. Of course you lose the low latency stuff but if you just need it for mixing it works fine. That's what I do when I take things to the living room to mix. You can just grab the demo and install the driver that way. I have no idea if protools will play nice with it, who knows with that program. It's so clunky.

could read REW's filter text format

What format are you using? The exported standard text filters are transferable between really any EQ, Freq, Gain, and Bandwidth should translate the same between most EQ's. I use a fab filter EQ on my DAW when I want correction while still using my interfaces native driver. I also get basically the same filter results if I use the same settings in FL studios stock EQ. I would wager Protools stock EQ should behave the same as well, if not fab filter pro q 3 is king of EQ's.

I have run FIR correction inside of Reaper on its special monitoring bus and found out it is much less taxing on the CPUs if using Eq-Apo instead. The only "problem" is you can't use Asio, but it's not really a problem nowadays. The Windows audio backends improved a lot.

Not exactly what you're asking, but what about something like this?:
Hey thanks... I tried Sonarworks. I got a free three month trial after I purchased some gear. I uninstalled it after two days. The results were ok but it didn't quite fit the bill. At least for me.

No issues with Pro Tools. It uses my Audient's ASIO driver and everything is steady and the latency is excellent. The issue with Pro Tools stock EQ is that it only has 5 filters to work with. I need about 12. Yes, Fabfilter would probably work but I'd wait for a sale. Thanks

Just stack the EQ's.

I found a Pro-Q 3 alternative that'll work. ToneBoosters Equalizer 4. It features AAX , 16 filters, dynamic equalization and spectral display.

It imports XML files so I'll be testing some TXT to XML file converters today. Thanks all for your help.
