Looking for driver measurement amplifier

A used Parasound Zamp v3 is pretty much perfect for this role. I’ve also used a Pro-Ject Amp Box SE (Hypex UcD180 and power brick) but the Zamp is small, nicely built, AB so no load variance issues, and powerful enough.

If you are looking for an amplifier for measuring drivers, why choose one that is load dependent?

The V3 Mono is better than the stereo, which doesn't have PFFB. And for measurements you only need mono anyways. I have bought the V3 Mono to replace my Audio Source Amp 100 because it's literally about 1/6th the size, but I haven't got around to getting it out of the box yet.

The Zamp looks promising, seem to show up a lot used. The frustrating thing is that I only need a couple of watts. But it needs to be a linear 2 watts. If I was an audio engineer it would be trivial to design something small and even battery powered.

You may actually find more power useful. I’ve had to bridge my Zamp at times taking speaker measurements to avoid clipping and get well out of the ambient noise floor.
