Looking for Dirac ART and Trinnov users

Thanks, I have seen these threads, if a cheap 16 channel plus audio processor came out with digital outputs that could decode Dolby Atmos etc then I would be going all digital.
The best option at the moment is the Nuprime H16-AIP or -AES, which can feed Dante, AES3 or AES67 directly to any PC.
If 8 channels are enough, there are many more options.
 
I have ordered the RME and Behringer ADA8200 (2 week back order). I will update this group on how it goes.

@welwynnick, if all goes well, I might get that Nuprime processor.
 
What is the RME?
RME Digiface USB. The Behringer ADA8200 has adat output and inputs. So I’m going to plug the rca outputs on my AVR to the ADA8200 via pseudo balanced cables, adat output to the rme, then I can do EQ etc on a computer and then adat output of the rme back to the ADA8200 then xlr output to amplifiers.

I installed Camilladsp this afternoon in my new Raspberry Pi 400 (it was going cheap) and managed to get my RME Digiface USB recognised in Linux. All this means that I am moving towards trying this.
 
Just realised this needs Windows……which might make my life easier.

A Linux release is definitely landing in the next few months. I really love and hate windows at the same time. Not sure if it will run PS though. I think a better thing to do is get a small PC. Right now I'm experimenting with GPU acceleration, but I think what's even more exciting is iGPU acceleration becuase it's cheap and already included when you buy the CPU, and also becuase it shares L3 and ram with the CPU, it has some distinct advantages when it comes to memory access patterns. It's free and should work with even for huge systems without taxing the CPU.

I have installed a 14 day Dirac ART PC bundle and did manage to get it running in a 2.2 setup (2x Ascilab C8C - BX8C + 2x Neumann KH810).

Does ist run with jriver Media Center?

Where can I download the plugin?

However: I learned that calibration is only included for one year. After that time period, if you need to adjust your calibration, you have to pay again. I am not sure if I like this pricing model.

Okay, for a project studio license (I would need that for my 2.2 setup?), the price is still attractive.
How long does your business exist already?

If you ever add a sub, you just pay for an extra support and that comes with 30 days where you can create a new calibration.

I've been working on this project for what will be 3 years in december. Early releases were around April this year. Most of that time has been research and development of the core algorithm. There is a small yearly fee if you want want to create a new calibration, but all software updates are free, new features are free, calibration improvements from the algorithm updates are also free. Also we have a referral program. In your user dashboard there is a link. If someone signs up with your link and buys a mini license or above, you get a whole extra year for free.

What does "calibration" mean and include? The measurement(s) and filter creation? Or just the measurement(s)?
Meaning, if I want to create new filters for another bass target curve, do I require calibration access or is this possible based on existing measurement(s) at any time, also without calibration access?
 
You do not require an active calibration access to create a new target, you can do that right from the VST at any time.

You only need calibration access when you physically change your room or speaker layout or you want to checkout the latest updates to the core optimization algorithm.
 
I am slowly planning my move to a MOTU M4 so I can utilize tools like this. I find the idea of Dirac ART really appealing but it costs more than I paid for my mains. It would be for your basic 2.2, Genelec 8030s + 2x SVS SB1000. Results shared in this and other threads look promising!

I do "studio" stuff on the hobby level, but these days I would also want to use it for playback, doing the processing in EQAPO as the VST host... anyone using it like that?

I have a UMIK-1 and an old Behringer ECM8000 somewhere in my closet. No cal file for that but I could create one using the UMIK (with its file), I guess. Any foreseeable problem with that approach other than the high self-noise?

The self noise DOES affect the calibration though, but as far as frequency response goes, I have two of these ECM mics and they basically line up perfectly with earthworks except below 100 where by 20hz there was like a 2 - 3 dB variation and similarly on the highs, but the entire midrange were within 0.1dB of each other. If you choose to wait, two device support (using a usb mic) is coming soon, although even in that case I would still recommend a umik2 for it's more reliable clock.

I own a Topping DM7 multichannel dac driving a 5.1 setup from a PC and would also love to try out the MIMO tool offered by @umamiaudio - however, I’d vastly prefer to use EQAPO as a host for its global properties and my preliminary research indicated that EQAPO can only host VST2 plugins and not VST3 plugins. Unconfirmed, but Perfect Soup probably falls into the latter category.

Edit: ^ this is seemingly incorrect as of June 2026, as there seems to now exist a fork of EQAPO which has native VST3 support. This is very exciting news for me personally, because one can now run system wide loudness correction or MIMO calibration. I’ll give the software a try soon.
