Looking for Dirac ART and Trinnov users

64bit, sampling rate is whatever the max rate on your host is, but it's internally max 96khz.
 
Thanks again, that's great news, given that most other DSP solutions are limited to 48kHz .
Can I dump my other questions on you, rather than dribbling them out?
  1. Your website says GPU acceleration is used to calculate the filters. Is GPU acceleration also used to run the filters?
  2. Your Excess Group Delay charts show around 60ms of GD correction. Does that mean the audio stream is delayed by at least 60ms?
  3. Can your software be used as a plug-in within HQ Player?
  4. Does you only process LPCM, or can you process DSD or DoP as well?
  5. Are there limits to the number of channels, or speaker groups, or speakers in each group?
  6. Can your software be used as a DSP cross-over for full-range active speakers?
  7. Do you have any before & after waterfall charts for room correction?
  8. Do you allow the subs to support each other at very low frequencies i.e.: infrasonic compression?
  9. Is your software compatible with a double bass array?

2. No. There is about 10ms of latency, but I'm looking to decrease this in the future.
3. If HQ player can load VST/AU then yes
4. It loads as a VST /AU so if your host supports that then it's supported
5. No, only limited by the processing power of your hardware
6. No, it's not designed to do crossover in a single speaker
7. No, but you can try it for free and make one for your own room. Please post it here as well if you do.
8. Yes, the software optimizes infrasonics as well
9. Yes, but the subs should be fed individual channels
 
I just wanted to update this a bit incase anyone sees it. In the next release the support frequency will be free floating (based on measurement data) and the latency will also be reduced.
 
This very interesting and to start with, can the OP or participating members of this thread kindly explain the device/connection topology. I understand the fact that the software works as a plug-in (VST/AU for now) within a DAW. This translates to running a DAW on a computer and running Perfect Soup as a plug in, I presume the computer interfaces with the AV Receiver or AV Processor via HDMI to output test tones to a multi channel configuration e.g. 5.2.2 or 7.4.4 or 9.8.6 etc. Hence my questions are:-
  1. Once the calibration process is done it's processed by cloud server and stored locally as a file that Perfect Soup can apply, is that correct?
  2. Does this mean that one needs a dedicated computer working in real time between the source and the AV Receiver or between an AV Processor and Power Amps?
  3. I see some posts that mention an interface (E.g. Motu) that offers inputs and outputs, is this required to interface the computer running the DAW with a receiver or processor? - I presume this is people who have studio setups. However for those that have home theatre setups, what I the approach?
  4. Does the final calibration file work in real time via a computer or does it have to be uploaded to an interface device that is VST/AU compatible?
  5. Has anyone tried PS in a multiple row setup in terms of seat to seat consistency below transition compared to WF or ART? - WF or DBA seems to work well but sacrifices total output by half.
A clarification will be appreciated.

2) Correct, you need a comptuer
3) For the measurement process. I've seen some people use flexasio with good results, but that's not a currently officially supported
4) It works in a computer
5) It should work in multi-row situation as well.

Very good question. That's not trivial.
First, what sort of material do you want to play?
Stereo, 5.1? 7.1? Immersive?
 
I presume the computer interfaces with the AV Receiver or AV Processor via HDMI to output test tones to a multi channel configuration e.g. 5.2.2 or 7.4.4 or 9.8.6 etc. Hence my questions are:-
A DAW running Perfect Soup doesn't lend itself to using an AVP, especially if you want to process immersive audio like 7.4.4 etc.
The output of the PS DAW or DSP PC is digital, and you need a suitable interface for whatever audio you're processing.
If you're processing say 7.4.4. you can't send that from a PC HDMI output, as that is limited to 8 channels.
I think this would be a suitable architecture (unless you're in a mastering studio):
PS would sit in layer 4, Digital Signal Processing.

You can use any one of many digital audio interfaces to connect the DSP device, but not HDMI. AES3 is an obvious one.
 
I would love to try this and I don’t want to invest >£1000 on a Motu A16 or equivalent. Can anyone please recommend a decent 16 channel analogue input and 16 channel analogue output that is decent and relatively cheap and works with Linux? Low latency would be great tool and I realise I might be asking too much.
 
It's kind of an unsupported setup, but someone tried it with flexasio with good results

Can you elaborate on what you're looking for?
 
I want to plug the RCA outputs of my AVR (Denon 3800H and/or Marantz SR6012) to a ADC then connect to a Windows or Mac to use the Perfect Soup MIMO VST3 plugin in a DAW (I have Hang Loose Host) and then analogue outputs to amplifiers to my speakers.

Now, since my last post, I've done some reading and research and it looks the the VST3 plugins etc only work on Windows or MacOS.

I've also being doing some more research on interfaces that may work without spending £1500+ on a Motu 16A.

I think I may try a RME Digiface USB and 2 x Behringer ADA 8200s. If I want to, I believe I could expand to 32 channels in the future.

The chain would look like this:

Yes, you are in the right track. Pretty much I have same setup. Only concern is that you will be limited to 16ch @ 96khz. This is required for the measurements. How many output channels your system needs?

Thanks, this is ADAT so it’s limited to 48khz.

I used a pi agent with kimi-k2.7-code to translate my chain to a html file.

I’ll check if Perfect Soup needs 96khz.

Your end game is similar to mine, but the route is different.
First of all, how many channels do you want?
If it's only 8, that gives you a lot of good cheap options.
If it's more than 8, it's more complicated and expensive.
If you want to run at 96kHz or 192kHz., even more so.
If you use ADAT as the digital connection, you could use an ADAT PCIE card to feed directly into your PC, instead of via a USB interface.
MADI might be another good option.
Another approach might to use an audio processor with a digital output, like Apantac, Arvus, AudioControl, AudioPraise, Blustream, Nuprime or SMYTH.
That allows you to avoid two conversion processes between analogue and digital.
Most audio interfaces are recording studio quality, but with the best will in the World, Behringer (and Crestron, Ferrofish, Tascam etc) are not.

Thanks, I have seen these threads, if a cheap 16 channel plus audio processor came out with digital outputs that could decode Dolby Atmos etc then I would be going all digital. I am more than okay with using the Behringer's until a decent all digital solution arrives. I want to prove the concept for now and then the next step might a Mac Mini and using the Apple TV app, I buy my movies through Apple.
