Looking for compact surrounds for KEF Q1 Meta

Hi everyone,

I'm moving from 2.0 to 5.1 setup in a relatively small room (4.5×3.5 m). Fronts are KEF Q1 Meta, center will likely be Q650c or Q6 Meta. Sub will be SVS or RSL (both Black Friday deal dependent). AV receiver is AVR-X1800H.

I'm looking for compact rear satellite speakers that:
  • are discreet / wife-friendly (white preferred to blend into the wall),
  • can be mounted on the wall behind the sofa and tilted roughly 60° toward the listening position.
What I’ve considered so far: Canton Plus X.3 / MX.3, Cambridge Minx MIN22. I also looked at KEF T101 and Polk OWM3, but they’re difficult to get where I am.

Any recommendations or alternatives I might have overlooked?

Thanks!

First, what is your market so we don't recommend a bunch of things that you can't get hold of.

Second, why do they need to be compact? Is there limited space or is this an aesthetics thing? Is there a budget limit?

KEF Q8s (normally used for Atmos) will match your mains and meet the requirements of an angled and wall-mountable speaker. I would not use them as surrounds in a dedicated multichannel audio set-up, but they work in that size room as home theater surrounds, with a sub. If you also plan to listen to multichannel audio, then two other budget-friendly options would be 1) another pair of Q1s with a bung in the port and mounted on the wall with tilting brackets (Amazon has many options) or 2) a pair of Q4s hung on the wall (they are designed for this) - they'll give you better sound than the Q8s and maybe even than the Q1s. There are good sales on all of these now, new or (via accessories 4 less) refurbed.

PS - And if you find good prices, you might even consider upgrading the mains to Q Concertos and using the existing Q1s as surrounds. You can get a new pair of Q Concertos for $999 right now.
