Hi everyone,
I'm starting a new fitness routine for health reasons, and I'm looking for a specific kind of gear that seems a bit niche—so I figured this is the place to ask.
I’m in search of closed-back headphones (not earbuds, bone conduction, or open-back) that have an onboard music player, ideally with support for FLAC or other high-quality formats, so I don’t need to carry a separate device like a phone or MP3 player while exercising.
Most of what I’ve found so far are either bone conduction types or in-ear sports models, which I’d prefer to avoid. I’m looking for something more traditional in form—over-ear or on-ear—but with self-contained playback capabilities.
Key features I’m after:
Closed-back design (for passive isolation and more immersive sound)
Built-in storage and playback (preferably FLAC-compatible)
Good fit for light to moderate physical activity (not necessarily for running or extreme movement)
Decent battery life
Does anything like this exist in the current market—or am I chasing a unicorn here?
Any kind of suggestions would be super helpful.
Musician here, with fairly high sound expectations... though a poor one!
Thanks in advance for your help!
