Hey everyone - new here

I recently moved and had to sell some KEF Q950s which I loved (unfortunately were also way too powerful for my tiny room at the time).

I now have a decent sized living room probably around 13-14ft x 25ish ft and i’m looking to get an audio set up. Will be using it for music and movies/tv/games but music is the priority by far. Budget is around 1000-1500 for the whole set up. Im thinking bookshelf’s make the most sense - i’m in an apartment complex and while the walls are thick i dont wanna create an issue but open to be flexible on that if people don’t think it’s a problem. Also open to the idea of a sub if people feel like thats money well spent though could add one down the line too potentially.

i was always enamored with the idea of the revel m16s but they’re a fair amount more expensive than i’ve seen them (i can only get them for $1000/pair). turntable wise i’m not picky at all - happy to go as cheap as possible that’s not gonna mess up my records. same deal w the amp i don’t really care a ton as long as it does the job.

i like some character too - i know i can always eq but im not too picky about it being super neutral or anything i just want it to sound great. i’d love some general advice on speakers to look at, where to allocate my money and etc. thanks so much i appreciate yall!

couple of additions - polk r200 are on sale for $525, KEF are having their sales event and have Q350s for $500, Q550 for $375 each, Q750 for $450 each and LS50 meta for $1000/pair

polk r 200 at current price would be a place to start , and may be all you need...
