Hi,

My wife started to play the bass guitar, and I'm looking for headphones that can be connected to :
  • the Phones output of the bass amp (Warwick Blue Cab 30)
  • the Phones output of a line 6 pro xt rack (don't ask me)
  • PC :
    • most often to a laptop (ACER Swift 3)
    • maybe to an SMSL AD18 amp on a desktop PC (probably during gaming sessions)
    • on the same PC, on a Focusrite Scarlett for music.
My wife and I are > 55 yo, with ears that work more or less. The environment is not noisy.

The Beyerdynamic DT990 pro model (32 ohm) is often cited, but I'm sure they are plenty other models which can do the job. Price range ? About 50-120 euros (used, so probably 150-200 new).
From what I've read 32 ohm + open back is the way to go.

Thank you for your help.
PS; my headphones are old Stax (Sigma, Gamma, Lambda + SRM-T1).

I know many bassists that like AudioTechnica M50x for bass monitoring. It's a bit colored for general listening, but its frequency curve is flattering to bass guitar. Are IEMs out of the question?

I use Audio Technica M40x for guitar and bass tracking.
Direct amp headphone output, multi-fx unit and amp sim software through interface - everything goes.

I also bought the Truthear Zero 2 couple of months ago, while these work pretty good I still prefer my M40x.

Yes, they are (don't ask why ;-) )

WARNING: I have tried practicing guitars with headphones and it always sounded funky, like I'm playing in a dream or something. Make sure whatever headphones you get are also good for other applications if you feel the same way and say "never again" like I did
