Hi
Is there a true transparent HDMI splitter that won't change the device ID or mess up the EDID or the resolution, so both signals will be an exact carbon copy of the original signal?
Say I have an Apple TV 4K and I want to feed its output to two HDMI inputs on my AVR. One would have settings for music listening (Dynamic volume, dialog enhancer off, etc) and the other for movie watching (dialog enhancer, dynamic vol on, etc).
When I connect my Apple TV to the AVR w/o a splitter, the AVR identifies the device as "ATV". I've tried 3 different splitters from Amazon, and they all display a different device ID instead of the original ATV and the Apple TV no longer detects the AVR as Dolby Vision compatible.
There must be a true HDMI splitter that can pass the signal as is to both outputs.
Thanks
