There is this thing called fast bass.

Funny enough, "fast bass" doesn't have much to do with bass, and even less with "fast". What it (usually) means is an emphasis on the frequency range where the harmonics of typical bass/rythm instruments reside. This makes those instruments to be perceived as sharper and more emphasized, and thus "faster".

Thanks for mentioning this, it's one of those audiophile-isms that a lot of people misunderstand.

A "cheapskate" option for Bassheads, the AKG "Tiesto" K167 headphones have been offered by B + H for $50 for years. Pretty good headphones with very solid bass, tend to need more power for "ear-flapping" bass.
