I'm searching for desktop studio near field speakers (~5' from head to speaker) for my small room (~8x10). They'd be on desk which is against a wall and near a side cabinet so quasi-corner. I don't need high SPL. I use it for both listening and guitar practice. Would prefer compactness but ,=12". Source for now is an M4 Mac mini and if it's related, would love to get at least a basic room correction in the loop.

Neumann KH 80 + MA1 microphone.

You can sell the mic after calibration/room correction to recuperate some of the cost.

Highly recommended to get some desktop stands to elevate the tweeters to ear height, regardless of which speakers you end up buying.

I couldn't help notice all the dialog around Amir sticking with his JBL's. I know these are more compact and probably flatter but it does make me consider if the Kali INF's would be good (enough). The listening won't be loud so perhaps that lessens the room correction priority. At least these Neumann's approach affordability and have DSP.

Alternatively if you’re running all your sound sources from your Mac, you can use Dirac Live as your room correction as an Audio Unit on your output to the speakers.
