Looking at this https://www.smallgreencomputer.com/...inear-power-supply-15w?variant=12730870792226

I know the SBooster PS is great, but I don't think I want to spend the money on it.

I would be interested in this https://diyaudiostore.com/collections/kits/products/linear-audio-silent-switcher but I have no idea how to hook the damned thing up. I'm a chemist, not an EE.

Also, the sMS-200 supports a USB Wifi dongle as an input now, but many audiophiles go apeshit at the thought of Wifi. Why? It achieves perfect galvanic isolation, so as long as you have a good signal.....?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it is a bit tricky in that the it has a 9 volt input jack and these come in multiple sizes. So you would not know in advance if a replacement one fits.

Aside from that, I would get a linear supply, not a switching one. A switching one already comes with it.

Here is one that says it is made for SMS-200: https://www.ebay.com/itm/TeraDak-30...768553?hash=item33cffc9329:g:0cQAAOSwXYtY0rCH

It doesn't have safety certification but looking at the pictures, it looks OK.

I've been looking at those. I might do it.

What about this? http://www.ldovr.com/product-p/dxp-1a5s.htm

It's from the company that makes this:

Which one of your members, in another thread that I can't remember, recommended. It's switching, but supposedly it's damn good quality.

Does this mean you're not a fan of the PS Audio P12, P15 & P20 AC Regenerators?

https://www.psaudio.com/product-category/power/
No, they generate AC, not DC. In the context of what the OP wanted, he already has a switching supply which is then post regulated inside the streamer. To the extent he wants something else, then my suggestion is to get a linear one. Getting yet another switcher doesn't make sense to me in the context of the question and desire of the OP.

My lap AC generator works similarly to PS Audio gear (and I also have a PS Audio) and it is a useful tool to see effects of power on electronics.

Gotcha. What lab AC generator do you happen to use? Is it "better" than the PSA? Have you ever done any measurements of say a dac plugged into the wall and it and see if the output is any different?

It is a B&K 9801: https://www.bkprecision.com/products/power-supplies/9801-programmable-ac-power-source.html

You could use it to power source component but it is not as powerful as the larger PS Audio products. They make larger ones (other companies) but they have super loud fans and are huge in size. So not a good choice for audio systems.

I plan to do a project to see the effect of it on audio product. I did a quick test on the Neurochrome HP-1 headphone amplifier the other day and no matter what I did, including fully distorting the AC waveform, the performance of HP-1 did not change one bit. I plan to do much more testing later but for now, we are back to "well engineered products don't care about power quality."
