Hi All,
I am trying to work out the best option for the living room.

I tried q acoustic 3030i with axa35 amp, but found dialogue in movies lacking a bad. I didn't want to go the route of setting up a centre channel etc.
I previously had s3000 pro and didn't have this issue, but their bass issue was a problem for me.

I have been debating the following speakers, but space is a bit of an issue.

Kef lsx ii lt
Kef ls50 ii (though at top end of budget, are they worth £1500+?)
Kali lp-unf
Kali in-5
Kali in-8
Adam t5v
Adam t8v
Elac dbr62
Elac ubr62
Klipsch rp500 ii/ rp600 ii

Mixed usage. Films and music. I have been wondering whether a sennheiser ambeo plus would be a good idea, but I had a q930c before and music was awful.

Help appreciated. I have read a lot of the threads here and have read generally positive things about above speakers, but clarity and soundstage is what I am looking for. I don't need crazy bass, but prefer depth if I am honest.

I can't fit a sub sadly, otherwise my initial thought was kali lp-unf and the 6.2 sub.

Any of those should have decent soundstage / clarity. For that, prioritize smooth-ish treble and good directivity. All of these are at least OK in that regard.

Since there is no chance of a sub, prioritize bass extension. So for me that narrows it down to Adam T8V, Kali IN-8, or maybe the LS50.

Whether they are "worth" $1500 is up to you, but KEF stuff does go on sale a few times a year.

And welcome to ASR!

I haven't heard the Elacs and RP500 ii, the rest of them I am pretty familiar as we carry them where I work and have the LSX II, LP-UNF and IN-5 in different room in my home. Without a doubt for me the IN-5 would be my choice. If you are going to play loud then the IN-8. Until you get to Genelec or Neumann which we also carry that would be my choice. I had a chance to get R3 Meta at about the same price as the IN-5 and I brought both home and myself, family and friends in some testing all chose the IN-5 but they were very close. The LS-50 is not close to the R3 Meta IMHO.

Having said how good I think the IN-5 is, I would recommend you try and listen to these yourself. People have different preferences and they're a lot of good speakers. I'm sure you'll get even more suggestions. Try to listen if possible. YMMV.

Could you elaborate what did you find better about the IN-5? What was the amplification for R3?

Amplifier was the Parasound 5250, we were only using two channels. I found the IN-5 had more dynamics, better bass which gave it a richer, fuller sound. Definitely back and forth on the highs on which was preferred, some material was better on the IN5 some better on the Kef. Both have a really good mid-range.

I use these without a sub, that could be a bit of an equalizer between the two if we were comparing with a sub.
