Hey all!

So I recently got a pair of Revel F208s for the living room and was originally going to pair it up with a Denon x3700.

Upon more thoughts about it, I am thinking of spending a little more and going down the DAC/Preamp > AMP route.

What are everyones thoughts on using something on the cheaper side like a Topping (or splurging something like a Okto/minidsp SHD) as the DAC/Preamp and running an optical from the TV unit to deal with TV show/Movie audio?

I would do an RME or MiniDSP SHD so you have at least some room correction options. If using subs, the MiniDSP offers built in crossovers and streaming capabilities, plus Dirac.
