Links being put in "Embed" tags.

I've noticed recently that when I add a link to a post it is now automatically put into Embed tags - resulting in huge posts including any pictures in the linked pages. - as you can see in this link:

So… I’m about to buy a new CD player

is the consensus that the Denon DCD-900 is better than a Marantz CD6007? lower noise floor? Better disc tray mechanism?

Thoughts?

The Denon performs slightly better in measurements - but not enough to make an audible difference. And bear in mind if you use digital out to a DAC or integrated amp there will be no difference at all - measured or otherwise.

Make your choice based on features you need, on price, on the perception of quality etc.

Previously "unfurl" tags were used - which just showed a small outline - and could be set to false so that only the raw link was presented.


Ive tried editing out the tags in BBCode mode - but they are put back in when the edits are saved.

Is there any way to alter this behaviour that I've missed?

Not really no, as it seems to have been part of the forum upgrade. Maybe it can be set back, or maybe Amir prefers this option.

You can embed a link... like this though using the insert link button or Ctrl+K.

Of course I can - I knew that - had just temporarily forgotten. Thanks for the reminder.


Still a little clunky compared with simply dropping the link in the post.

You know... I noticed that change, but I hadn't really noticed it.
I did rather run afoul of it earlier today posting a link in lieu of a quote in the humo(u)r thread.
