Greetings,
in last couple of weeks I've been researching and listening to various speakers. Made up my mind to choose passive ones and amplifier. Listened personally to Dali Oberon 3, Dynavoice Definition DM-6 and Klipsch RP-600M II. Compared them side to side in professional studio. Ended up liking Klipsch RP-600M II the most even though Dynavoice was clearer it lacked lows and bass. Intention is to use these to watch movies and play music in living room. I haven't chose amplifier yet - few things in my mind but thought I'll try to pair it after I choose the speakers. Problem is that Klipsch RP-600M II are 33cm deep. My TV stand where they would be placed is 40cm deep. Which leaves me in between 7 to 10 cm depth only. I've seen multiple different values as to what is the minimum/optimal distance however most of sources concluded that at the very least it should be 15cm/6inch therefore I've started to question whether I should purchase Klipsch RP-600M II. Would someone be so kind to recommend perhaps smaller speakers with similar sound or maybe front ported ones? Regarding the amp I might want to extend my setup with subwoofer later for 2.1 so sub out would be a must. My TV has chromecast 4.0 plugged in so I dont really need a streamer (if if it wouldn't be for that I might've already go with WiiM AMP but i guess in my specific case its not worth the money as I wont benefit from its streaming capabilities anyway -> I use YTM via Chromecast 4.0). Am I too concerned about distance from the wall?
Thank you for your input and help :)

i assume since you are looking at a 6.5" speaker you want bass without a subwoofer?
front ported - elac debut 2.0 b6.2
you could also look at polk es20, they are back ported but with a device that allows them to be placed close to a wall without muddying the bass.

Use separate speaker stands or position your TV furniture a bit further out from the wall.

Front or back ported speakers shouldn’t matter that much as bass frequencies are omnidirectional.

7 to 10 cm space behind the speaker is sufficient for the rear port to work as intended. No need to be concerned. Below is from Genelec. The speaker/monitor on stand is rear ported too.

I still might want to pair them with sub in 2.1 setup - most likely for movies, keeping it off when listening to music.
How ELAC's are similar to Klipsch? Kinda heard throughout the forums that they're the opposite of what Klipsch is?
Polk's wouldn't help as they're even deeper than Klipsch :(

Unfortunately not an option, furniture is hanging on the wall - can't move it. No place for stands either.

I guess this kinda answers my question, I'll ask the shop whether I could return them if it causes any issues.

Should I create separate topic in AMP part of the forum regarding the AMP?
Looking for one with 2.1, not necessarily needs HDMI/BT although would be nice. I liked WiiM AMP but I fell I would pay for streaming functions that I dont need thanks to Chromecast 4.0 dongle that is connected to my TV (meaning that most likely I can get something cheaper without these functions or get better amp for the same price).

KEF Q4 Meta?

Even if you aren't interested in the streaming features of the Wiim Amp, it's difficult to find any other amp at its price point with the combination of performance and features like bass management and EQ/room correction, as well as continual feature adds via firmware updates.

These Klipsch have been reviewed here. Not a great result. I wonder if the studio where the Op heard them was heavily damped? Might not be to his liking at home.

This speaker has a slightly less deep cabinet, and a roughly similar response, but not sure just how large a space you are trying to fill. Measures a little better all the way around than the Klipsch. Available in other colors than white.

A reminder that if you place your speakers very close to the front wall, you need to be aware of SBIR (speaker boundary interference response). The thread below has some good (or links to good) information on how to rectify it using EQ.

The RP-600M II actually measures substantially better, and is quite amenable to EQ to fix its remaining issues.

Still wouldn't be my first choice, but I can certainly see how it might sound good to someone who enjoys a bit of a treble forward sound.

Maybe worth considering is the active JBL LSR 306 speakers. No need for a power amp, about the same size (5 cm less deep) and a nice sounding speaker. Saves money even before considering you don't need a power amp.

Sorry, didn't notice the mk II difference. The Q Acoustics has a general frequency response shape even closer to the Mk II version so still maybe a good alternative choice.

Was thinking about a dozen at least, thought I'll go with passive ones so I can do something with them in the future.

There is sweet deal for Q350 around me (~~430$ a pair) but thats only 2,5cm smaller than rp600m II (~~540$ a pair). Haven't heard the Q350 though, just seen it being recommended over and over again.
Few others pairs and their prices plus possible discounts.
q Acoustics 3020i (430$ a pair)
RP-500M II (475$) - price would probably drop to 440, they're 27cm deep so thats 13-15 cm space behind them.
R-50M (290$) - price would be 265$ most likely, they're 23cm deep but no longer RP series.
How similar are r50m and rp500mii to rp600mii ? Any good review that goes about differences in between the series? Quite a lot about MK1's which, can't find much about MK2's. Seen on YT on "Erics music" or smth video that compared 500 vs 600.

That is potentially why I might want to end up with WiiM AMP as it supposedly offers good EQ. Just what another person confirmed (kyuu).

Out of the ones I've heard personally I indeed liked Klipsch the most however that was just 3 speakers after all. Perhaps some other recommendations can be made - considering depth that I have and therefore wall proximity.

A lot of music, movies/series quite often. Room size is 20m2, I'll be sitting roughly 2.5 meter from the speakers&TV - directly in front during the movies. For parties it won't be in front as table is elsewhere (diagonally 1,5m from the left speaker and around 4 meters from right one). Music wise - a little bit of industrial techno, house and rave, rap - easier to say definitely no pop, rock or classical.
