LG Soundbar - how to get side speakers to output audio from a stereo signal?

Have tried everything I can find, although there's not that much info about it as it seems mostly to be treated as a function within the LG app (i.e. if you select option X then it should work).

It's a LG S95QR. Sound bar, sub and 2 side speakers. These output a test tone when checking for connectivity, so it seems to be a routing issue, the soundbar isn't wanting to send them audio.

We have Audio Hijack and various similar audio routing apps, but none of them seem to bring the side speakers to life. Currently running into the system via HDMI cable.

I am having the same issue. No audio on one of the rear speakers LGS90TR. Tried the same app, reset and everything possible. Did you figure out a way to debug it ? In the wifi router I see 4 audiocast devices most likely related to the soundbar but I cannot connect to any of the IPs.
