Lexicon RV-8 as 8ch power amp

This used to be SOTA for both HT and audio, at $7K USD.

Going for 10% of that now, even less with no remote.

Looks like no third-party remotes can replace their proprietary one.

Anyone know if this beast can be programmed from PC over the RS232 connection?

Or just used as an analog-in passthrough power amp without any programming?

I have no interest in the Dolby / DTS / THX decoding, but the crossover / delay functiinality would be nice...

The RV-8 is a total beast and has two sets of analog 5.1 inputs over RCA if you configure it that way. That would be the easiest way to use it simply as a power amp. I have never performed programming over RS232 but I would be shocked if it was not supported. These were used in custom installs as the go-to control center for years.

If you want to use digital processing you would want to use the digital inputs, which are showing their age.
