Let's share diagrams (and photos) of our total physical audio system and the whole signal path, with a few words and/or links

I find vinyl and whisky to be a soothing combination as well. ;)
It might look like whisky - but actually it is Burmester port wine. You can´t see it on this photo but I have more CDs than LPs
:)

I see what you did there; with the 'sideways' power amps!
I got the same problem but even worse.
Not only does my entertainment-center weigh over 600 pounds, but also houses a lift-TV, on the back side of it.
After twenty years of ownership, and labeling every connection (on both side: To/From)..., I still cuss myself out -and often- trying plug/unplug cables by braille.

I always fantasied about having one of those "gear closets" that you can walk into, has one wall with shelfs with the gear facing out into the room..
Just walk in and get-er-done.

Office setup: Wiim Ultra (fed FLAC files from either microjukebox (squeezelite) or Picore or Synology NAS (department of redundancy). Technics turntable (1200m5g?, Ortofon Red), Schiit heretic and a Yamaha 1300 CDR all connected with (very) generic cables, Tripplite surge protector

Let me ask you how do you "organize" your digital music library as well as physical CDs and LDs on your shelves?

Just for your possible interest and reference, you would please find my "organization policy and practice" here (#4), here (#9), here (#16), here (#102).
Furthermore, recently I took HiRes photos of my physical CD library/shelves as shared here #95! :D

As for my backup policy and practice of the treasure digital music library, please refer here #60.

Even though I too always fantasied the same, my living/listening room did not allow me to do such "house/room" renovations...

Alternatively, therefore, I setup almost all the audio gears (except for SP system) on top of an antique rigid and heavy cupboard, and I install 77-mm-diameter 15-mm-thickness Teflon sliding pads under the four legs contacting the wooden flooring (ref. #931 on my project thread).

The entire of gears plus antique cupboard is very heavy, but thanks to the Teflon sliding pads under the legs, I can slide "the whole", with all the cables remain connected, about 1.3-meter ahead so that I myself can go into the cabling space between the wall and gears for occasional maintenance, possible connection change, and semi-annual complete cleaning of all the metal-to-metal connectors (ref. #671)!

As for access to back side of L&R SP system, it is quite easy for me since we have another open space/room, actually our dining room, behind the SP system (latest ref. #931, #976).

Yep, and I know I've warned you before, if you damage the top of that beautiful piece of history, I'll find out where you live and send you to sleep with the fishes. ;)

I organinize both CDs and LPs alphabetically - plus I have it all in a Collectorz database. I have almost zero digital musik files, so that is not a problem. I love physical media and cannot relate to not having a cover and covernotes. If I need something I dont have in my collection I stream it, and if I grow fund of that music I try to find it on a physical media.
on the photo ypu see how I have my CDs in pet sleeves instead of Jewelcases and have them put in (15cm X 21cm) baskets. 36 of these baskets contains all +1800 CDs.

I have dreamed of this as well - but having not enough space for that solution i came up with with this idea. As you (maybe) can see on this photo end (red arrow) - I have placed a 10 mm plywood sheet on top of the LP cases under the stereo setup. This sheet I can pull out in front of the LP cases on 3 working benches. This works really great :-)

Indeed; I've even thought about a patch bay but too complicated..., I am learning to enjoy cussing WAF!
I have two small patchbays in my system as well as the plywood solution - see the post #410 above

Each to their own I guess, I have over 4000 Albums stored as digital files as 16/44 flacs or better and can't related to having all that physical storage issues.
How can you read all that tiny print on the CD artwork? I've got this on my 85" monitor to read while I listen. :p

I sure have some difficulties reading the small print thats for sure - but extra strong glasses do trhe trick when needed - your solution is great though - but I only have a 48" TV so about 1/4 of yours :-)

I got a wall mount server rack to hold my gear. I sprung for the extra swing out wall mount so I could easily get to all the cabling when needed. Works great for my needs.

If I take my glasses off I can read it! Although I can't recall last time I did read any liner notes, even though all my listening is via CD.

You are sitting on a >5+ figure treasure trove..., on the used LP-market, ...before it shrivels up (whenever)!
That sum would afford you the most b*tching speakers on the market!

Here is a block diagram of the system I assembled for playback of spatial audio in Apple Music. The headphone adapters in the 8-channel DAC are the Apple dongles that measured well when Amir tested them. My total cost for the USB hub, the four headphone adapters and the four RCA adapters was $68.99 (plus tax - Canadian funds)!

I have learned that many/most Atmos music mixes don't use the LFE/subwoofer channel. I figured out how to extract varying amounts of LF content from the main left and right channels and route bottom end content to my subs using DSP - specifically Rogue Amoeba's Audio Hijack app. I also used their Loopback app to create an 8-channel aggregate audio device with zero drift. This much fun ought to be illegal

EDIT: See my post on the next page for another pretty picture and some notes on this system. I am now routing LF content from every channel - except the LFE channel of course - to the subs.
