LATIN MUSIC YOU'D SHARE

This is the Gloria from the "Misa Criolla", an Argentine version of the Catholic Mass. The composer is Ariel Ramirez. It is also the original version.

Peruvian pianist Alfredo Linares (born 1944) recorded "TIHUANACO" in 1973.

Great thread topic! I appreciate the relative lack of reggaeton especially.

As a contribution, I love this serendipitous discovery. An ineffable song and an entrancing voice:

@Soandso I liked the tunes after I fond them, especially Ray Barretto, but why not post links instead of graphics? So much easier to check them out.

To all: Sorry if I stepped out of bounds with a recent dancey pop cover. Once I went through more posts I realized it was mostly tending toward a mellow Spanish guitar style not so much the New World of this century. If appropriate, I would love to see what people like in the more contemporary Latin artists. Spotify is great at suggesting trendy overproduced commercial junk but pretty bad at identifying good ones.

EDITED: As I keep reading, I see there is some pop early in the thread - great and please keep it coming.

Here's another, less recent fave, from a great Aussie (!) Latin-infused. pop band:

I don't use Utoob for listening to music. Deezer is my streaming subscription so convenient to screen shot a graphic illustration of the recording I listen to.
