Well, ditched the Topping D90SE.
Received the Holo Cyan 2, problem solved.
Since the Mcintosh preamp dac was at 99% ok with the LG toslink output ONLY when the toslink reclocker was placed in line, I decided to keep that thing in place.
It really did improve things, but still not enough for the Topping.
The Holo can do without, but I'll keep it in between.
