I went to MSB suite the first day as soon as the show opened but they had some technical difficulty and asked me to come back. So I did. Vince (VP of sales) was there as usual with his captivating CD tracks playing through their Reference DAC. As always he uses YG speakers.

MBL room was highly praised so I decided to go back for another listen. To my ears, it homogenizes all music to sound similar -- something I don't enjoy. If you like everything airy and diffused, this is the speaker for you.

Another thing I am not a fan of is MBL being one of those rooms where you sit and they play what they want for you. No requests. No explanation of the systems. Nothing. Customer is not first.

ELAC. I went to Elac suite on day 2 but Andrew Jones was not there and as such, the experience not so nice. He was here on this third day and I sat through a whole presentation. He really, really knows how to show off speakers. His mannerism, expertise and playlist is second to none. Even though I had heard and see these $5000 Adante speakers at AXPONA 2017, I still enjoyed sitting through his talk and music.

As you can tell :), I really enjoyed my time at Elac suite. By far this was the best experience at LA audio show! Funny thing is, it got so little press. Everyone talks about the high dollar rooms but what I heard at Elac suite with Andrew at the helm ran circles around all of them.

One cautionary note though: everything Andrew plays is audiophile class track with lots of ambience. As such I don't know how enjoyable or good the speakers are with other music. My experience with his lower end speakers is that they don't play as well there.

My experience with non-audiophiles is they don't like ambience. They hear it as noise in a recording. Musicians in the main are about twice as bad in this regard. They don't care about where it was recorded coming thru because it interferes with hearing what the musician was doing with his or her instrument.
