Hello dear ASR-community,

I am owning a pair of the above mentioned speakers and asked myself lately, if they are any good by todays standards. Unfortunately I only found one review that seems to be kind of decent. But my knowledge in interpreting that data, is limited.

purple graph is for the RB81s

To me they sound really great. With plenty of bass in my room, and clear highs and mids. Because I haven't compared these speakers to other (newer) speakers, I am not sure, if they are any competitive nowadays.

What do you think?
Thanks in advance.

Please excuse my poor English (no native speaker).

From what I can tell, the graph shows the frequency response of the RB-81 MKII, so not really applicable to the MK1.

It's unlikely that they're still competitive nowadays, but if you like the sound then that's all that really matters :)

Hi staticV3 and thanks for your answer.
The tested model is indeed the MK1. You can check the attached (small) pic on the review page. In addition to that, I don't think that the MK2 was already released in 2006 (the review is from Oct. 2006)

Btw:
I was once able to find a measurement of the MK2, but never found it again. If I remember correctly, it had the typical 100 hz bump in bass. Whereas the MK1 is more or less flat in that area of the graph.

Greetings El_Duderino.
