Khadas has changed the VIM3 slightly from when we previously reported on it earlier this month. The single-board computer (SBC) now features a more powerful Amlogic SoC, the hexa-core A331D, which can output up to 5.0 TOPS. The VIM3 now starts at US$99.99 and will ship worldwide from August 10.

My biggest problem has always been with SBC's is the fact that Raspberry Pi's have a massive community that draws you to buying one just for that reason alone. Now that the Raspberry Pi 4 has been released, this SBC is under more competition. Though the performance for those that have specific applications in mind... the VIM3 is great.

One advantage over RPI 4 is inclusion of SPI Flash. That should make it much more reliable than using SD cards. I wonder how much it comes with though.
