The red line is 100db, so it’s at 100db. Same with canton.

If you plan canton and kef at 100db you hear distortion in bass from kef and in treble from canton.

Kef has more extension but at 100db it doesn’t matter as you will be annoyed by that distortion than what is audible.
Only at 100%~ its audible the distortion in lower bass.
While in the mid range (around) 1% is enough to be audible, and you cannot fix a distortion in the mid range but you can add a subwoofer to the mains speakers
Because the R7 have more extension also mean the R7 are playing the lower notes louder, you can Tame down these lower bass in order to match the spl from canton, you are going to reduce the distortion in the lower bass with the KEFs.
Is not fair compare the distortion in the lower at 93dB vs 86dB.

You don't need low distortion in lower bass, for example this is a 15'' subwoofer 68 Kg

As you can see the distortion at 20hz@109dB it's 12.5%, that's extremely low for sub.

Dude yes, you are right that we don’t need very low percentage of distortion in lower frequencies. And even 30% is not audible at 20hz @ 109 dbbut r7 at 100db has almost 100 percent distotion which is definitely audible by anyone. That need some high pass filter.

Cantons normally have some “displacement control” filtering in crossover which does not allow its woofers to hit audible distortion. On paper, they like to play it safe but from graphs it’s not as effective as they say but definitely effective than the r7. R7 cannot be used for loudness applications without a high pass and sub. By the way that sub is amazing . I never knew it could have such low distortions? What sub do you use with yours? Also how did you high pass ?

I will move to a bigger room, when that happen im going to buy a subwoofer like Rythmik F12 or SVS SB4000/SB3000 and then high pass the R7, for now it's more than enough, im in a small room for now.

I don't need to turn up the speakers that loud in a small room.

Its the sum of the all the changes, how much of it comes from the metamaterial we won't know.

Here I had posted also the distortion components where the lowering of the more audible 3rd is significant
KEF's white paper answer:
Lastly, research conducted during the development of The Reference (2014), R Series (2018) and LS50 Meta (2020) has provided evidence for an improved choice of inductors, capacitors and resistors that directly results in lower system distortion and improved signal integrity.
