Wondering if this would be a good idea, I like the sound of the KEF Setup I use at home, Q300 and was wondering if I could get the same audio quality DIY'ing something for the car

If I were to buy a pair of KEF Q800DS, which include two drivers per speaker I could replace all the speakers in the car with drivers I know are good

I understand the internal volume and structure of a car door versus a properly ported box will make a world of difference to the sound

My old car was running some BLAM speakers powered by a Fosi V3 + 12v to 24v step up converter and signal via a Tinysine TSA1702B DSP for manual time alignment. I am planning on using the same desktop grade parts as they are well priced and have good performance (I dont need more volume)

Just want to know what other people think, thanks :)

In my last car audio installation I used Hertz speakers and was very pleased with the performance. They are developed for this environment. (Ensure you buy from a dealer, there are many fakes online.)

Note that the environmental conditions (temperature range, shock and vibrations, humidity/condensation) inside a car can be much harsher than those inside a house. Something designed for home use may not last very long inside a car.

Why not? Ask them about the ones they install to Lotus:

KEF used to make car speakers. Watch this space to see some (6.5” and 6x9) for sale…
