KEF Reference 3 - damaged cone

I replaced a driver in a set of R7 speakers because of dents. I had a Seas driver from an XTZ speaker lying around, so I compared the two as best I could, though I'm not an expert in drivers. For the KEF prices, this had my interest. At the time, the Seas driver felt heavier and looked robust to me.

These could be the world's most fragile and delicate drivers, perhaps ?
Yes but they won’t break unless you touch them. And for other brands ypu need bit more force to damage them. However that’s why they sound so agile if m not wrong

There is no way on earth you are going to hear there are dents in that cone! No matter if you were Batman :D That will affect the sound 0%

Buy them, cone damage is a sign of individualism :D
I disagree with tweeters, I have had speakers with dented tweeters and they sound edgy or bity. However with woofers I had at least 3 brands in last 20 years with some dents on cones or dustcaps. You hear no change when dented

The reference grills. I need to think of something to attach to that rather sharp connections. The engineering for the audio part is nice. This is something else .Bought for not damaging the delicate woofers. Perhaps they did not include them for a reason.

They seem like an afterthought. The Uni-Q one is fine…find the magnets and it grips. The woofer ones that require putting the tabs in the gap around the woofer…YIKES!

Maybe I should cut the tabs.
