Kef r5 meta discontinued?

The kef r5 meta looks like it is being discontinued. Anyone know why. Is it going to be replaced? Or does Kef think it’s a redundant model for the R3?

R5 Walnut is sold out.

I think they are just out of stock.

I bought a different pair of KEFs last month and the dealer told me there were supply issues with some models. That’s EU though, not US.

Thank you for contacting us. The R5 Meta speakers in all finishes are no longer being manufactured. We only have stock of the white finish left and are not expecting more stock of any finishes. We have the R7 Meta in Walnut available for purchase on our website.

My guess would be sales that never materialized. At full price it was kind of right on top of the R7 which side by side is just much more speaker assuming available space. At the sale price the R5m became attractive, to me anyway, compared to R3m plus stands. The only thing sharing the bass drivers is the R2c, I’ll be curious if that stays in production.
