So I was checking Wiim Ultra for movies with 2.1 and I noticed on wiim forums that the TV will downmix the sound to wiim ultra without bass (lfe) so I was wondering how to get around this.

Couldn't I make a preset for music and one for movies and for movies/tv I would use 2 rca y splitter on channel 1 (for example) and feed both 1 speaker and arendal 1961 1s subwoofer so I'd remove the lowpass the sub out uses (wiim ultra preset1) for movies (and let arendal do its thing) and add it for for music (wiim ultra preset 2) and back to using sub out.

Does this make sense?

It does require physically switching the rcas but wouldn't it work, I mean maybe losing the lfe for movies isn't that big of a deal but...

So set the Arendal to LFE, plug it into the WiiM, and let the WiiM handle sub integration duties.

Here's my living room (measured in centimeters) where the speakers will be and I'm not sure on the sub yet , just waiting for speakers to arrive, everything else has arrived. Any feedback is great, will post full range pink noise rew measurements when they (speakers) arrive using MMM and stationary measurements.

Floor to ceiling is 256 cm.

first measurement of subwoofer done. it's on the left side corner of the room, driver facing sideboard. wiim ultra subout crossover at 150.

here are my subwoofer measurements in 4 positions (front of room) lpf crossover at 160 hz with 24 db slope, using MMM method on a microphone stand at listening position, I think pos 3 seems best, I took measurements with sub driver facing right side of the room and facing back of the room (f). Any tips would be welcomed.

Wiim ultra at volume limit 95% and playing at 80 volume.
