KEF Q7 Meta vs. Polk R600

The room that I listen at Best Buy is fairly large so room base nodes probably not likely. Also in the same room at Best Buy they have the Kef R11 which did not have any bass issues. The R11 sounds pretty tight and quick on the bass.

Dunno what "fairly large" means exactly. Unless it was an empty warehouse, a concert hall, or outside, I wouldn't assume room modes aren't an issue. Could also be simple boundary reinforcement.

Unless both speakers were located in exactly the same place, doesn't mean much.

Have you actually heard the speakers yourself? If not then your opinions don't count.

There are better measuring speakers, some that go deeper, others with my ideal dispersion pattern, better FR, but regardless of price, say under 8kUS$, none that I would prefer on paper.
Hi, don’t you think that, at least on paper, the R5 Metas are much better? I’m currently evaluating some floorstanding speakers, and while I’m very attracted to the 7 Metas, I’m concerned they might be too dark — at least judging by Erin’s graphs of the Q11s. I can’t or don’t want to use EQ at the moment.
Thanks for your help.
