Great to see the LS60 perform so well. I have a pair since 3 weeks in my living room setup, love them. Love their neutral honest sound, great stereo imaging, build quality. Lots of bass (waaaaay more than Kef R5).

I think they go loud enough, I really never feel this is a problem. Certainly go loud enough to damage your ears.

But it doesn’t go down to 23Hz and it has more distortion at low frequencies. There is no free lunch. Pick your poison. The LS60 is still a small speaker meant for smaller rooms and for that it does excellently.

I understand it has more bass but I'm underwhelmed with its output above 100Hz considering this data from KEF and that it's a 3 way speaker.

This speaker really has plenty of loud bass, room gain helps big time. I have “wall mode” on -5.0 db. But you can also use 1 or 2 subwoofers to increase bass headroom.

Where my kef R5 were lacking so much bass that without a subwoofer it would be useless to me, the LS60 hasn’t once triggered me to add a subwoofer.

And I have plenty of subwoofers at home to add. SVS PC2000 pro, monoprice monolith 15, xtz 10.16, JBL 4281F.

It just seems that a lot of people don't like these lifestyle speakers.

And I kind of get it. For music, in small to medium sized room, this is the ticket for most people. Just plug it in and you are done. No extra boxes or tweaking required.

Add a couple of subs and your movie needs are also met.

Blade 2 Meta is US$28k/pair. Or about 5x the price of this.

LS50 Wireless 2 is US$2k/pair. Or half the price of this.

LS60 Wireless seems like a hybrid between Blade 2 Meta and LS50 Wireless 2.

I can see the target audience, as Erin and members mentioned. This speaker does a lot of things right, at the cost of loudness.

Kef have created a wonderful piece of engineering. Kudos.

Well that just goes to show how valuable subjective opinions are. I actually first noticed them as I thought KEF had stepped it up in terms of aesthetics. Said with no edge, just to be clear.

I guess you're into hearing damage then? Even 90db over a period of time causes hearing damage. I find 80-85db to be the about the most I care to listen at. There's nothing to not like about these speakers when used as Kef intended them to be used for.

Have a look at the respective measurements, learn how to interpret them and you might learn how you feel about them which will be entirely different from what Erin might have to add subjectively
