28k is a wild price
So: either Erin was measuring at a lower SPL than indicated, or Nuyes was testing at a higher SPL than indicated. Either that, or there is something wrong with Nuyes' sample.
Great but seems the Blade 1 meta outperfoms the blade 2
Measurements for speaker KEF Blade 1 Meta
www.spinorama.org
BTW the KEF Reference 5 measure better than the blade 1 and 2 @ $8500
You guys need to stop thinking the measurements allow you to compare two good speakers and be able to tell which one is better. You can't. The spinorama doesn't tell the whole story.
Our SBS.1 speakers "perform better" according to the preference score than our Mantas (~twice the price). Are they actually better? Not at all.
In this case, what's the point of using a reference?
Sigberg speakers are rather very medium in terms of results specially for the high price, aren't they?
In any reasonably sized listening room
I suspect what we see is actually room interaction, not loudspeaker distortion.
If the mic is left in the same position, why do we get more room interaction at higher volumes? Also, we know from his measurement of the on-axis FR that he is able to replicate Erin's Klippel measurement above 200Hz - IOW he has shown that he can take a quasi-anechoic measurement above certain frequencies. Nuyes' compression measurement shows substantial deviation in those frequencies. Much as I respect you, I have to disagree with you on this one ... sorry.
Preference score....I see....you think it is more relevant than measurements. I would agree, if it has a solid scientific basis. anything other than that does not tell reality. You guys need to stop thinking the measurements allow you to compare two good speakers and be able to tell which one is better. Isn't it reasonable to get more reflections at higher volume levels? Whatever it is, what is shown in this graph is not something we'd expect to see from compression due to the driver(s) not being able to keep up.

You get the same reflections but at higher SPL. The reflections can be easily windowed out, especially above 1kHz or maybe lower depending on the size of the room.
They are lots of other speakers that measure quite well with quite reasonable price )Not really, they measure quite well.

The problem with manufacturers is that you often fall into confirmation bias.... ASR / Erin / Spinorama help us to contrast our choices.
Scientifically speaking, Spinorama allows you to compare two speakers by superimposing the different results. (SPL, in room, on axes, etc.)Yes, but then we are back to where we started - your ability to interprete the spinoramas and understand based on them which speaker is better. It is not so easy.
I would think electronics too, risng distortion vs freq is usual at some of them. You get the same reflections but at higher SPL. The reflections can be easily windowed out, especially above 1kHz or maybe lower depending on the size of the room.
If they were made out of aluminum they would have felt much more premiumI would think electronics too, risng distortion vs freq is usual at some of them.
About the speaker, really good measurements.
Haven't listened to them but the Blade 1 I listened to was probably crippled by the room at midbass because impact was simply not there.
They went deep down, yes, but no clean hit at 100-250Hz on the chest. Rooms will always dominate.
Even the bigger ones are not as intrusive as one thinks, they just look like big-ish speakers. I could stuff them in my living room at they gray nice colour I saw them.
They do look premium at their own way, not SF premium or Rockport premium, but they do have their something.
