The inspiration:

As noted on Kef's website, the inspiration for this design comes from Brancusi’s seminal modernist masterpiece ‘Bird in Space’; it may not appeal to everyone, but it is certainly a breath of fresh air compared to typical box speakers.

I personally love the design, and not just because I share the same home country as Brancusi.

There is also the option to match a custom colour or finish of your choice. This special service allows customers to make Blade truly their own, something totally unique.

Not when you prefer a warm but light color (e.g. beige), but given that you can purchase a custom color at least there are options.

I was actually thinking more about the Reference series (which is a better design for my room) which is limited to 3 boring colors.

I feel the same and use the LS60 for surrounds with the Blades.

But the LS60 is much cheaper.

Can they be wired? How do you connect them?

Indeed. However, that omnidirectionality is in free-field. SBIR can affect performance when side or rear walls a close. KEF recommends >36" from side wall and >9" from rear wall. "Positioning the speaker in a corner or near to a side wall is not recommended as the significant bass boost caused by this position will affect the sound and cause the stereo image to deteriorate."

" is the symbol for inches and ' is the symbol for feet. For inches, multiply by 2.54 to convert to cm.

36" = 91.44 cm
9" = 22.86 cm

Sure. I connect the LS60s via S/PDIF.

They do but I generally don't.
