KEF Blade Two Meta Review

So an LS50+subs should sound close to the Blade?
That is not the case. The way the bass drivers are set up on the Blade Metas is such that they cross over around 400Hz, which, as far as I am aware, is not possible with any conventional subwoofer, not to mention the fact that they are located (in terms of acoustic center) super-duper close to the Uni-Q driver array to minimize issues like comb filtering, etc.

The perfect speakers
My only worry would be to knock them over accidentally because they're tall and slim but I can't afford them anyways lol

I believe Blades One Meta and Two Meta share their Uni-Q specifically with LS50 Meta
Highly doubtful. The Uni-Q in the Blades (and the Refs) are midrange/tweeter. The Uni-Q in the LS50 is also a woofer and that demands, at the very least, a different suspension.

The man who owns three Blade Meta 2 knows!

So Refrence 1 Meta + subs should be somewhat close to the Blade assuming it's the same driver
A poor man's Blade is never a bad thing ;)

You’re absolutely right. There are, in fact, a number of differences between Uni-Q drivers from model to model across the different Kef speaker ranges (e.g. the size and magnet composition changes depending on model). The fact the drivers may look similar on the outside doesn’t mean they are the same on the back where are all the guts are hidden!!

Of course, this very subject has been previously discussed on this website several times (Google is your friend!).

Just one of several videos on the subject (go to roughly the 4:30 mark in the following video):

I thought Genelec were the perfect speakers ;)
I was trying to sound like less of a Genelec fanboy for a change ;)
But seriously they're as perfect as they get as passive speakers.
But I'll always prefer active pro monitors over anything else

Untill now the only speaker that came close to the Blade was the LS60 (we did an AB test with the same song in the same room at a demo).
But that doesn't mean that a Reference 1 with subs doesn't come close too, I didn't hear that combo.

Did you mean LS60?

I feel the same and use the LS60 for surrounds with the Blades.

But the LS60 is much cheaper. ;)

Given, “street prices,” the use of a subwoofer for low bass, and already owning a good upstream, I wonder what’s a better bet for the money, a pair of LS60s or a pair of R7 Metas? Hmm…
