KEF Blade Two Meta Review

The only downside of the Blade 2 Meta is that it's not full range
If I pay that much I expect it to be
That's why I would add a little more $$$ and get the Blade 1 instead

I used to go mainly to the Royal Albert Hall, which initially had bad acoustics and now has extensive treatment. Also the Festival Hall and the other smaller South Bank venues when I lived in London but I don't nowadays, more likely to be the Sheldonian in Oxford or the Holywell Music Room, also in Oxford.
None of the concerts I have been to had electric powered sound enhancement.
Knowing the venue and choosing the right place to sit makes a marked difference but I like my HiFi to sound a bit like this.

The last non-classical concert I went to was Leonard Cohen at the O2 16 years ago which was great and fortuitously it was the night they recorded the bluray - so I can listen to that :)

I've always enjoyed open ampitheaters. Irvine Meadows was good when it was around, as well as Hoillywood Bowl. Coral Sky also is good. (It's called something else now, but it's name changes from time to time.) The key to all of them is gettings good seats. I've never been to Red Rocks, but it is on my bucket list.

Those Blades still look elegant with the covers on, beautiful shape cabinets, very organic on the eye.
I’m also a big fan of pro driver bass/sub cabinets, I have FaitalPro but only because I couldn’t stretch to the BMS at the time.

Faital are very good drivers as well , the BMS just dig a little deeper I use it mainly for HT
 
I have a pair of Blade 2 Meta speakers in a fairly small room. However the room is not your usual one. It's square, and all horsehair plaster on lath walls and ceiling, about 110 years old. There's heavy insulation behind it, angled for the roof line fore & aft. The floor is plush carpeting with a thick synthetic pad. There is a few sound absorbing panels behind them, to the sides at the first reflection point on the walls, and behind the main listening position. There are two JL Audio E-112 subs to hit the lowest octave .

It's heavenly here.

EDIT: BTW, the only people paying full list price for these are those who order online or don't try negotiating. I have a 10+ year long relationship with my dealer and have brought them a few good customers. The margins on those is such that significant discounts are possible, I just cannot reveal exactly how much.

Even if you get 50%off they are still quite expensive. I think they are pricey mainly due to its labor cost of where they are made .

And how dare you disgrace those wonderfully accurate loudspeakers, forcing those antiquated vinyl records through those poor drivers! :p

(I kid. Love the records. I’m of the view that a nicely record collection always makes a room look cooler.)
