KEF Blade 2 vs Ascend ELX Towers as End Game

But the Klippel EIR is much more advanced than the old Spinorama and, according to Erin H, matches very well with what he hears on nearly every speaker. So far it seems like out of all of the measurements, it's the one that can stand most on its own and represent the sound of the speaker.

I admit I don't listen to all his reviews and mostly look at the data so I haven't heard him mention that as far as the EIR. I still think the dome vs ribbon is an example that it may not be enough info assuming the ribbon is in fact more "detailed" per user descriptions, of course this could simply be sighted bias which is why I think a blind test between the 2 would be interesting.

Oh and I get wanting to simplify the graphs into 1 but I mean it's not that complicated using the listening window and early reflections which is what I mostly go by.

Based on my read of the EIR, I think the RAAL speaker should sound more detailed and more open yet smoother, and the Titan dome should sound a little brighter or "zingy" but at the same time a little less detailed, with a sound stage that is also slightly further back rather than projected forward.

These differences are of course smaller than comparing to other speakers not made by the same designer using mostly the same parts.

These observations are mostly based on the relationship between the output at the crossover, including the dip there, and the highs. Of course, I have not heard them.

It’s interesting that the bass frequencies changed between the measurement of the titan vs the raal ELX towers. I am curious as to how that could be. Driver QC variations? I noticed Erin reviewed the Ascend LX speakers and observed differences in SPL vs what Ascend measured. I think Erin said he contacted Ascend and it was chalked up as QC variation.

Maybe @AscendDF could chime in.
