Kef Blade 1 meta disappointed

But the horizontal directivity seems very narrow above 350 Hz compared to a Kef Q11 Meta.

If you look at the whole plot, the directivity, particularly the horizontal one, becomes pretty narrow beyond 2K. Not only in the sense of narrowing listening window, but off-axis energy more of less disappears outside a +-50deg window. As it increasingly doesn't, the lower you go below 2K, this is likely to create a tonally imbalanced, midrange/presence-heavy reverb in the room, which might be an explanation both for some sort of ´holographic imaging´, and why people don't prefer these speakers.

I have seen narrower horizontal dispersion, I have seen wider horizontal dispersion, and I have seen horizontal dispersion that is way more non-linear. Moreover, I have seen people who prefer those different characteristics. If someone has well treated side walls, for example, non-linear horizontal dispersion is not as problematic as it is in an untreated room. In a room not treated beyond conventional furnishings, which is most often the case, a linear horizontal dispersion becomes more important. How wide of horizontal dispersion is up to personal taste. I prefer wider dispersing speakers, but in a room with high side wall reflectivity, that could be sub-optimal for the preferences of some people.

fairly confident the op is looking for support for his GE's. I've gotten buyers remorse from so many audio components because the results at home seldom impress like the demo did that now I buy used just to protect my retirement funds. That said it's likely I'm projecting my issues with the OP's comments, but when he used the stereophile RC issue to compare his speakers to the blade meta's I could relate.
