Keith do you know the specs of the treble trim? Where it starts to cut/how quickly it rolls off?

KEF are owned by a Far Eastern holding company, Harman too I believe?
Just bluetoothing Paul Wellers new album courtesy of Tidal, comparison against the passive LS50's coming up.

A just comparing them now, I can say without fear of contradiction the wireless version requires less ancillary equipment!
The actives are ridiculous;y good, so much sound from such a small package.

I measured the KEF LS50 actives compared to passive versions, at three distances from the rear wall, this 150cm away almost 'free space'.

Yeh was watching it last night. Will promote it to home page as it has really good technical information in general.

Heard the LS50 wireless recently. They may measure superbly well, etc. but to me they sounded* small, strained and a bit boxy - not miraculous, which was what I was expecting given all the fuss. I suppose they have protection that limits the bass at higher volumes, and (without extra cardioid stuff) the baffle size itself is always going to give the speaker's size away..?

*sighted test of course

No they haven’t managed to rescind the laws of physics but for the price and size they are I believe excellent value.

...excellent value.
I would say that depends on the application. When I see tiny speakers on top of tall stands in a large room, I do wonder if the purchasers might not have been better off buying something for the same price that is a bit larger!
