Kali Audio LP-UNF

How did the soundstage feel comparing the MR4 and LP UNF? I wanted to know if its worth the extra money. Even considering buying the MR3. Thanks.
I couldn't tell you, but you can Look at the measurement data of All 3. If i would buy small speakers today it would be Adam D3V.

Hi there, just came across your reply to this thread. Would you mind tell me more why you prefer the Adam D3V to Kali LP-UNF?

I bought the D3V a couple weeks ago as my first set of desktop speakers for causal listening (no music mixing nor any kind of studio use cases). I'm quite happy with D3V and surprised by its clarity, accurate imaging, bright treble and wide sound stage. Things that I wish it could be better are more accurate/tighter bass, deeper sound stage and more sweeter treble. Maybe I'm demanding too much for such a small size and low cost speakers :)

I have not auditioned any other desktop speakers (or as they are usually marketed as studio monitors), including Kali's or Kanto's for comparison. Your experience on these speakers are appreciated.

Just my subjektive opinion, but I liked the deeper Bass of the D3V (it goes lower than Kalis) and I also like the Super small size and looks of it more. The MR4 are great for the price but not as good as both. (diminishing returns add quickly)

I'm not too sure about that. According to the measurements, Kali's bass seems to go lower, even more if you EQ it to make the low end flatter, as shown in the 3rd image.

I'm thinking about getting a pair of these , and have a simple question.... Do they remember the previous volume setting when they're powered on from cold, or do you have to adjust it every time ?

I waited for Black Friday to get a pair of these, but in the UK at least they weren't reduced anywhere that I could find. I was considering the Adam D3V due to the smaller size for desktop use, but was put off by a) the issues people reported with the muting even after software updates b) someone else reported buying a pair and them failing within a week. I also thought about the Rokit 5, but they were a bit more expensive and larger. The UNFs are just about the largest speaker I can fit on my desk while using two screens.

So far, I'm really pleased with them. They replace some Tibo powered speakers, and are a big improvement on those. Overall they seem nicely balanced, with the ability to hear lots of detail, and decent bass response for their size. I'm using them via USB, which I thought sounded slightly better than the output from my PC's very basic audio chipset, but could easily be imagining that.

The only trouble is it's hard to concentrate on what you're supposed to be doing when enjoying the music so much :)

If connected via usb (which is reccomended) you can apply eq on the device in the digital domain before it is processed by the internal dac.
This makes it as clean as possible. Meaning you don’t need the sound settings on the back on the speaker.
