Well, despite what some insist, the lack of any real spatial information sort of disqualifies it for inclusion in "stereo."
I’d imagine that ‘mono’ spread across all 5.1+ channels simultaneously would be quite challenging for a system, and potentially revealing too
Surprisingly oppressive.

Just when I’m building a 2 channel system/room after years of multichannel enthusiasm!
Oh well. All the MCH stuff still sounds great.
