Just wanted to share some insight on the resurrection of Deputy Marshal Raylan Givens in City Primeval. I'm a fan of westerns, and enjoyed the modern day theme of the original Justified, which ended 2015. So when I first heard of the new iteration, my heart sank with thoughts of how they should have left it alone.
Much to my delight, the first season of City Primeval (2023) didn't violate any of the old story lines. It had loads of familiar references & it was a pleasure to hear the smooth talkin' Marshal again. If you enjoyed the original series, then City Primeval is an enjoyable 8 episodes. That said, the 1st season ended with a setup to restart a closed thread from the original. It was just a brief bit at the end, and didn't impact the close of the first season... just setting up for the 2nd (which I'll likely pass on)
Had I not been familiar with the original show... it would have struck me as too much contrast, with over the top characters. Not good nor bad....
