Just lost my partner want to sell

Thank you all for your comments.
I can't seem to stop crying.
She used to listen to the hifi.

But as the condition worsened she would drift away.
Her favorite albums were average white band for you for love track. and silji nergaard dance me love track.
Iam going to resist and hang on to my gear.
Oh man this is so hard.
30 mins before she died she sat up opened her eyes and stared at to corner of the bed then lay back and shut her eyes.
Going to tidy up. Can't relax.
Made me feel better sharing my grief.
Thanks again you lovely people.

My hifi was everything to me.
And now its nothing.
My lovely sandra passed away in my arms
2am Thursday 23 july. she had been suffering from alzheimer's vascular dementia.

From a lively active lady to a shell.
I nursed her for 4 yrs with this cruel disease

We met 37 yrs ago.
I don't regret anything.
Not sure if i should post this but. Iam so upset.
Anyway been sorting things out i have to much hifi stuff.
Where can I sell my topping dx9 akm?.
If this post is breaks guide lines iam sorry.
Please accept my condolences for your loss- I am sorry to hear of her passing, and glad to hear of the decades of happiness.
A quick little prayer for you and her both...

IMHO your post is just fine and provides us all context.

My friend's wife passed a few months ago after battling dementia for 6 years. He was her devoted caregiver. They were not audiophiles but avid fly fishers. He again fishes. He is doing well now. Best of luck to you. Loss and grief take time. Talk to someone if you need to.

Read some John Stuart Mill and you will find that music provided him great solace in life, especially when he was down. Perhaps it can you, as well.

Hang on to your gear a while before selling. Sell now and you may regret it. Listen to some music she loved and remember the good stuff.

MY wife has a year to live, stage 4 cancer. Only marriage for both of us. A wonderful 45 years. My break and one of my few smiles a day is cranked music, she would not want you to sell if it can still make you happy, even briefly.

A slight bit of advice, your audio system sadly now is your time and your time only. DO NOT listen to music that you both loved and listened to together. It's your time to escape grief, not create more.

I feel for you brother, I thought the same, played a LP for the first time a month latter and it was the first time I even turned the system on after I received the news. I t was also the first time I got my mind off things, relaxed and smiled a bit. Now it's at least a hour daily ritual.

Don't sell until you are sure, it has helped me stop the endless cycle of thinking too much and let's me relax, at least for that hour.

Life sucks and is not fair my brother. I'm tearing up just thinking about what you are going through.

Peace!

PS: Found out 5 years ago, nothing much they could do. When I found out I could not sleep, had to keep my mind off it. I painted my big basement with 3 coats of paint in the wee hours, put everything back, a few days latter did 3 coats again for no reason,... and did it a 3rd time a few days latter. I did some crazy things, I hate painting but trimming and taping freed my mind, had to pay attention.

PM: Me if you want to talk.

God bless you.

So sorry for your loss.

We may be geographically distant but we are a community.

So very sorry for the loss of your beloved wife. I am glad that posting here has been of some help to you, and I hope that your decades of memories together will be of some comfort to you as you embark on this grieving process. Sending warmest regards.

Terry my heartfelt condolences. I understand your grief. Right now I'm grieving too because a dear friend of mine passed on the 18th. He was a shut in and I got his groceries and got him to his medical appointments and coordinated a few things so he could stay at home. And its very painful to lose someone you care about. And I've lost others. The love of my life, my parents, a brother, and all I can tell you is grief is a process you have to go through and there is healing on the other side of it. You will always miss her, but the treasured memories will remain with you forever. Wish you the best.

Losing the person you chose to share your life with is a heartbreaking loss. I have no words that could ease your pain, but hoping that, with time, you'll find moments of peace among the grief and wishing you strength to get through one day at a time. My deepest condolences.

My deepest condolences. May your loved one rest in peace. My deepest sympathy is with you.

It's Sandra's funeral tomorrow.
Bracing myself.
Walking around in circles
My heads all over the place.
It's all so final.
I haven't cried today,
I am still sleeping on the couch .
I had cared fir her for 4 yrs with alzheimer's
She also had vascular dementia plus lewes body dementia.
Her limbs trembled like parkinsons.
37 yrs together oh this is hard.

I will never forget the day she was diagnosed.
From an healthy lady to a shadow its been hard for me but now she's not suffering.

I have to get through this
God knows how but I will try.
Thank-you all for your comments it helped alot.
Thank you all.

My deepest condolences to you for your loss. It feels like the loss is immeasurable but the gift of the life you had together is also immeasurable. You will get through this because sounds like you are doing the right thing, seeking and accepting support from those around you, including support from an online community.

My deepest condolences Terry. Music can help. As I'm sure you know.
I join my voice to those of this community: Please receive my deeepest condolences. Music shall help the healing process.

Be well. she would have wanted so.

Not my wife, but we have a very close member of my family currently going through a form of AD as well. So, I was so very sorry to read about your loss. Through personal experience. I know a small part of what you must have gone through since the onset of your wife's terrible disease. Like many others have replied, I urge you not to sell your hi-fi, as music may prove to be a solace to you during this terrible period. I will be praying for you, and hoping that you find peace.

I know your loss. I lost my beloved wife and mother of my daughters at 45. We only had 15. As much as you can, feel grateful for the years you had together.

The first year is rough. Try not to make to many big decisions.
