You do know there is a documented blind test where so called experts couldn't tell the difference between expensive speaker cables and wire coat hangars?
The difference in resistance based on type of wire (solid or stranded) used is so minuscule that there would no difference in audibility in a blind test, so long as the average gauge of the wire used is the same for all instances.
QUAD specify brass.
The material is immaterial, the only thing that matters is the resistance of the conductor between the binding posts. A couple of pieces of coat hanger or baling wire will do the same thing.
