JL E112 upgrade? (F113v2)

Looking at upgrading my subwoofer setup, mostly as im being impulsive with upgrading to MOFI Sourcepoint 888s in a week. (currently have JBL studio 590s)

its a borderline large room at 2662 cu-ft

My choices mainly are:
A - wait for a matching E112 at the right price to appear on the used market
B - pair of used F113v1s, can include trade of E112. 2300cash + trade

The thing im getting hung up on is there are very few measurement reviews of subwoofers. but it seems like https://hometheaterhifi.com/ has measurements for both, they arent identical methods tho. so thats a problem, but even still they seemingly point to the E112 being better? which honestly makes little sense

I have a pair of E112s that I was running on my 1000 sq/ft open plan main floor paired with Focal Aria 936's. I love these subs! Ridiculous output for the physical size, as you know. As it so happens, I did compression testing on the pair from the MLP and you can see the results below. This was more than enough for me for music, but if you are craving movie-level sub 30hz hitting 110+ dB, you probably need to drop the big bucks. For the price difference though, I'd jump to something bigger like the Rythmik F18 if you have the space. I picked up a pair last year and the CRUSH the e112s.

Side note... if you live in far NW Wisconsin, or feel like making a drive, I plan on parting with them at a good price once I'm capable. I moved and they don't have a home at the new place. I had back surgery, so cannot move them or ship them.

Im south central michigan, but id be curious. I'd have to measure how the 18s would fit. I did look at 15s this morning

The JL subs are so good for their size, but good 15's and 18's are in a different league. I highly recommend JL Audio subs for when "I literally cannot fit anything bigger in this spot, and the quality/output is worth the expense," but if you have room there is no replacement for displacement.

A pair of F113 has a lot more output than a single E112.

The E112 has slightly less output than the F112 I assume. I have a F112 and a F113 so I am very familiar with them and the difference is not close. A pair of F113 should be more than plenty in most circumstances. Since like me, you are buying it at used prices, the absurd new JL prices are not a factor here.

The other aspect is having a 15 or 18 on subwoofer in a room and how intrusive it is. I unfortunately recommended a ported 15 inch sub to one of my buddies a long time ago and it was an eyesore. Looked absolutely horrible. Maybe a sealed 15” may be ok but be prepared for it.

Finally, this is debatable but music with the JL subs has sound quality that is among the best imho. You already know this, It’s such a satisfying sound. It’s why I have all JL subs and would have a hard time replacing them. Getting bigger subs with more output…are you buying them for movies or music?

Well I need to be a couple inches below the TV, and mains placement is priority so an 18 would likely not fit on the outside of the speakers. I'd have to remeasure tv bottom height after work.
 
After measuring this morning. max height on a subwoofer is going to be about 20-21", and thats going to be pretty boarder line on WAF. TV is about 23.5"
 
Well the dude sold the f113s out from under me. So I guess I get to reconsider everything.
 
Yea the new e15 is kinda on the list

I really enjoy the one I have. But with making a major upgrade in speakers, figure id upgrade that too.

but also looking at REL, and Rythmik at this point

Look also at JTR, Harbottle/Funk, and some others. I wouldn't bother with Rel or JL myself. Rythmik maybe, but nothing too exciting there.

Im not sure these fit within my price range when trying to go duals. Unless youd like to expand on things why something like a FUNK single would be better than rythmik E15 duals.

edit, nvm none of these are remotely near my budget for a single. soooo not sure on the recommendation?

I think im settling out to dual Rythmik E15HP2s since theyre in budget. now for the JL to sell!
