Hey, I have a JDS Atom but the actual power adaptor in the plug makes a low pitch noise! Its also very hot. This is despite the amp being OFF.

Are there any fixes for this or alternative adapators I can use?

It's a step down transformer so some hum and warmth is expected even with the amp off, but if it's really hot to the point you can't hold your hand to it it might be faulty and fire danger.

Warm is usual, but shouldn't cause audible hum(I have 3 of the ac adapters from jds). If the hum is clearly audible when you are sitting on the chair, you may consider contact jds.

Mine idles at about 42C in the hottest spot at 22C ambient if that helps, there is faint hum but it is inaudible from 3 feet away.

Mines are like 35c with no hum. Is yours 110v/60hz or 220v/50hz? Mine 220v/50hz.
But I wonder what happens to op now.

I leave mine on 24/7 as per the manual. The adapter is very very lightly warm to the touch I can't hear anything from a few inches. I feed it conditioned 110v.
